Hint: HS Seniors Ignore Your Junk Mail.

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Nearly every day of my senior year of high school, I came home to a pile of junk mail from colleges. My friends and I turned it into a competition.

We would brag about how much stuff we got, but never about who any of it was from. There were viewbooks and postcards and letters….but none of them stood out. The worst were the giant picture books that didn’t tell me at all what a college was like.

It’s not the mail that was the problem. It’s that none of it was relevant to us, so we ignored it.

The other day I was browsing around YouTube  (not at work, of course!) and stumbled on this video. It pretty much sums up the effect of most college mailings…

I wish I had weighed my mail!
